Southeast Massachusetts Staff

Nicole Miles
StrongStart Southeast PDC Coordinator

Biography:

Southeast Professional Development Center’s Program Coordinator, Nicole Miles grew up watching her mother’s commitment to ensuring quality education for young children in a program in Massachusetts. Aspiring to leave the same lasting impact on children throughout the Commonwealth, Nicole set forth in a career founded on developing positive child outcomes.

While studying Early Childhood Education at Quinsigamond Community College, Nicole began attaining her experiential knowledge as a preschool teacher and school-age site coordinator while eventually earning her Bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology from Becker College. Cumulating over twelve years of hands-on classroom experience, Nicole had a desire to increase her impact on children on a larger scale and recognized the need for quality professional development and educator supports available for fellow early childhood professionals throughout Massachusetts. Making a pivotal move in her career, Nicole began her work at The Institute for Education and Professional Development as both a Consultant and Project Coordinator. She played an integral role in the organization and facilitation of professional development opportunities by working with educators and programs directly and assisting in the writing and development of notable trainings that were vastly implemented throughout Massachusetts in group, out of school time, and family child care settings.

In 2014, Nicole joined the Southeast Education Professional Partnership (SEEPP) as the Project Coordinator under the Educators and Provider Support (EPS) Grant from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. In this comprehensive Professional Development system, Nicole focused her efforts on the leadership development of early childhood professionals by creating innovative pathways to guide educators to degree attainment and increased competencies throughout the Southeast.
