Play is critical in supporting a child’s healthy growth and development. Educators have a key role in facilitating and reinforcing the development of individual skills while interacting with children at play. This webinar will provide a clear understanding of the importance of play and best practices on intentional strategies that scaffold children’s learning through play.

Trainer: Dotti McDevitt

Dotti McDevitt began training with The Institute for Education and Professional Development, Inc. in August, 2017. Dotti holds a Masters Degree in Education and is the Educator Training and Support Manager at Child Care Network on Cape Cod. She is also the founder of Totally Teaching, a consulting, coaching, and training company for early educators and programs. Dotti has been an Early Childhood Educator specialist for over 30 years. She has been a family child care educator, preschool director and teacher and has taught grades Kindergarten through grade 4 in the public schools. She has been the Cape Cod Chapter’s representative on the MAAEYC board for about 10 years and the Conference Committee Co-chair for the past several years. Dotti has five children and 12 grandchildren that keep her busy. She enjoys paper crafting, reading, and camping along the Canal.
