Program Operations: Understanding and implementing the EEC Health & Safety Requirements

This PLC will focus on understanding the "What " and strategizing the "How" of the EEC Health & Safety Requirements. Breaking down the requirements will provide a better understanding of what is required of programs during this pandemic. Understanding what needs to be in place to keep everyone safe will ease some of the stress on programs, educators, families and children. Best practices for program operation will be discussed and brainstorming how implementation can be successful. Programs will create a "Continuous Quality Improvement Plan" (CQIP) that will help put into perspective-needed areas of improvements for operating a program during this pandemic.
Objectives
Participants will:

  1. Begin a program assessment to determine areas of strengths and weaknesses.

  2. Analyze program assessment data and prioritize action steps.

  3. Utilize the EEC Playbook, revised EEC policies and NAEYC COVID-19 materials as resources to improve their knowledge and program operation.

  4. Create a "Continuous Quality Improvement Plan" (CQIP).

Goals:

  1. Participants will:Understand the 5 characteristics of SMART goals.

  2. Practice the SWOT analysis process.

  3. Reflect upon personal mindset and the impact it can have on a CQIP.

Facilitator: Maureen Conrad Goulet

Maureen Conrad Goulet joined Community Training Group this year. She has an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She is an adjunct faculty member at Middlesex Community College for 25 years. She has taught Child Growth, Curriculum, Program Planning, Behavior Management, Supervised Field Placement and Seminar, as well as Administration. Maureen has experience with infant, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarten and school age children. She owned a Family Child Care Business. Maureen enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and walking with her dog.
