PLC Training: Looking for a way to build your skill and promote your own wellness? This professional development opportunity will provide information on the benefits of self-reflection as a way to reduce stress, and the development of reflective practice as a tool to better understand challenges, set goals for growth and track progress. Through the initial training and follow-up PLC meeting, participants will learn the principles of self-reflection as a professional tool, engage in peer reflective practice in order to learn strategies in shared reflection and perspective-taking, and devise a plan in which reflective practice can become a professional routine.

Participants will: Investigate the goals & benefits of reflective practice; Utilize principles of supportive peer reflective practice; Build skills in effective self-reflection, shared reflection, and perspective-taking; Plan for cultivating reflective routines.

Facilitator: Wendy Fournier

Wendy Fournier joined the Northeast Professional development center as a coach and facilitator in August of 2020. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood from North Adams State College in 1993. She has worked in the Early Care and Education field for 25 years. She started her career at a Resource and Referral Agency, then worked as a training coordinator at a family child care system in Lowell, and last, was the director of a local family child care system. Wendy also works as a Professional Development Specialist for the Council for Professional Recognition (CDA). She has experience with infants, toddlers, preschool, and school-age children. Wendy’s passionate about her work in the early care and education field and can’t see herself doing anything but educating early childhood professionals and working with young children.
