Caregiving & Curriculum During Crisis 

Training Address: Virtual/ Zoom and Online self paced 


In this innovative workshop, Caregiving & Curriculum During Crisis, educators will explore and learn ways to connect with children and families during these unprecedented times. Live Zoom session from 9:00-12:30 will include Virtual Learning in Early Childhood Education (participants will learn the powerful way to connect with children and families through Zoom; including sharing circle time, singing, and other ways to connect with families through technology) and Mindfulness and Self Care through Community (participants will learn ways to manage stress and anxiety and discover ways to support one another). The final self-paced topic is Secure Transitions (participants will learn how to prepare transitions for educators, children and families back to early education programs). 

Trainer: Vanessa Niro 

Vanessa Niro, Lead Teacher (toddler/ young preschool room) at Brookline Schools Staff Children’s Center 
Vanessa has been in ECE for 8+ years experience and is currently studying to receive her Master’s degree in Early Education and Care at UMass Boston while working as a lead teacher. She has worked and interned in private and non-profit centers, Head Start, and public schools in teaching and coaching/ supervisory roles with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Vanessa is particularly passionate about social-emotional learning, the Reggio Emilia approach and emergent curriculum, and utilizing early education as a powerful tool for social justice. She seeks to mentor and learn alongside other educators by fostering empowerment, professionalism, and a passion for life-long learning.
